Danger:
The internet is a dangerous place where criminals can attack un-expecting people. Like many online dating sites, all people here is the good that the dating site brought people. No one rarely heres about the deadly side of online dating. Many people can wind up dead because they aren't careful they think since its a dating site then they are safe. Thats the the number one mistake people make.
Prevention:
People need to look in more depth at the dating site that they are looking at. And try and do your own little investigation on the person you are be set up with. You can never be to careful when you are dealing with meeting someone from the internet.

Danger: The internet can be a great place for many different reasons but it can also be a very dangerous place to any unsuspecting person, especially children and young adults. Being that the internet is so anonymous, many people feel safe and think that it does not matter what they write in chat rooms or through instant messaging because no one is ever going to find them. Many people think that the internet provides a simple way to get advice on problems without anyone every knowing that they were the one with the problem; however, this is wrong. Being that the internet is so anonymous, you never know who is on the other side of the conversation. It may be a trained professional or someone your age, but what if it isn’t? The internet provides many opportunities for people to lie about their age, gender and everything else. Without knowing it, you could be having a conversation with a criminal who wants your personal information, to meet you in public, or to hurt you and your family. You need to be careful while using the internet and take every possible precaution to avoid dangerous situations.
Prevention: There are various ways to attempt to keep safe while online. One way is to only go to monitored chat rooms and never, under any certain stances, leave the public area and go into a side room or “whisper area.” Another way to protect yourself is to never open an email or instant message from an address that you do not know. Sometimes they may contain viruses or give the user access to your personal information on your computer. Lastly, never give anyone any personal information. This includes name, address, phone number or even the town in which you reside or your school because any information that you give out could be used to hurt you or your family.

Danger: Depending on how you use it, the internet is a more dangerous place than most people are aware of. Most of these internet dangers are targeted towards teenagers. People can make websites very appealing to people and can ask you for information in a way that seems to be very safe and harmless, however it's not. Also by getting you to reply to certain emails, usually from people you don't know, your computer can be hacked and get viruses.

Prevention: When you go on the internet remember that most of the time the information you type can be viewed by many. Don't give out any personal information and always read the policies and terms.

Danger: The internet is a dangerous place where many criminals are able to contact and find out your personal information to track you down all the way to your house. Many people think that this will never have this happen to them but it has already happemed to a number of people.

Prevention: To prevent these criminlas from conntacting you or tracking you down you can limit your information that you list and dont talk to anyone else on the internet that you don't know. Doning this will majorly reduce your chance of getting harmed.

Danger: There are many bad people who use the internet these days. You just never know who will steal your identity or find you and seriously hurt you. You can't trust many people over the internet these days.

Prevention: When you are on aim. (Aol Instant Messenger) or just checking your e-mail don't talk to anyone you don't know. Same with Myspace don't talk to anyone you don't know. Set your privacy so that anyone who does not know your last name cannot talk to you. Many kids are being killed by people they talk to online. These child stalkers pretend they are someone your age and when they get close to you and you start talking to them a lot they will want to meet with you and probably kill you.

Danger:
The internet provides many different ways of how to get to your data or just destroys it.
Viruses, spyware(like a trojan), dialers and spam are some of those ways. Usually they try to open a back door through different programs on your Operating System, so that the user doesn't know about it (like the Trojan Horse). Those spyware comes over email attachments or website which are infected with spyware.

Prevention
1.ALWAYS have your Operating System on the latest upgrade version and let the automatic update function turned on so you get the latest safety updates for your system.
2. Use a firewall. Windows XP has one built-in and a router most likely has one built-in,too.
3. Use an antivirus software!!!
4. Use antispyware programs, which search for trojan on your system and delete it if found.
5. Do a regular safety backup of your data, so that in case of a virus you don't lose all your important stuff.
6. Beware while browsing. Be wary of ad-sponsored or "free" giveaways. They probably include spyware.
7. Use e-mail cautiously -- never open an attachment unless you were expecting it.
8. Take a stand - don't buy anything promoted in a spam message.

Danger:The Internet contains an infinite number of high-quality, interesting, intriguing, and well-designed sites, and surfing on the Web is usually a source of enjoyment and acquisition of knowledge. However, because there is no supervision in this environment, it is sometimes difficult to know when positive activity could become dangerous and cause damage. It is thus important for you to be aware of the dangers lurking on the Internet for your children, and that you discuss these with them.
Prevention: Don't give out your real name or where you live. Don't tell people where you go to school or where you work.
